I did a new Podcast with Eric Weber the CEO of Pet Play Inc. The company produces gourmet meals for pets currently focusing on cats. Now for those of you who follow SoCal Buzz, you might remember that I did a cast with Eric earlier this year. However, I ran into Eric at a Keiretsu Forum event and was telling me about all the progress he’s been making and it seemed like a good idea to do an update.
For those of you who did not listen to the original cast we did back in May of this year, I like Eric and what he is doing a lot. First, he has significant domain experience having twice established and grown major brands for pet food companies and has worked in the field for a number of years. That gives him two very big steps up on other entrepreneurs, deep domain knowledge and a very deep Rolodex. As my partner said yesterday, those two can trump capital almost every time.
In Eric’s case, with minimum capital, he has gotten further than the goals he had in place earlier this year, like he want to have commitments to be in 250 stores by this time and he has commitments for 500.
In any event, if you have a few minutes and want to hear a good story, listen to the cast. If you are an investor and want to hear a great story from a knowledgeable CEO, you should also listen. You might want to break out your checkbook.
