SoCall Buzz focuses on what’s happening within the Southern California Business community. I cover topics on new companies, who’s pitching their ideas, funding, what local investors looking at, and current business issues that affect our area.

I also have StartUp Coast website where I cover startup company topics with a broader appeal than just Southern California.

SoCal Buzz is owned and operated by Jim Butz a Founder at Resonnect a Business Consultancy in San Diego County. Additionally, Jim is an Associate Partner with California Capital Partners a Venture Debt Fund with offices in Southern California, Silicon Valley, New York City, Toronto Canada, and London England. Jim is also a Senior Counselor at TriTech Small Business Development Center in Irvine California where he mentors early stage, high tech entrepreneurs. He is also in the process of putting together a Seed Acceleration Program focused on Wireless Health companies that will run out of the Gateway Business Accelerator in Escondido, CA.

Hey, Jim. Sorry to contact you this way, but I didn’t see another.

Since you’re interested in Drupal, I’d like to offer you access to review my new, seven-hour video course from, “Drupal Essential Training“. All I ask in return is that you give your impressions in your blog after you’ve had a chance to go through it.

I’m particularly interested in what you have to say because you seem to have a broad view of Drupal’s place in the world, and aren’t deeply involved in the Drupal community — at least, not yet. 🙂

If you just want a 24-hour pass, you can get it at But please do contact me via if you’d like a longer pass.

BTW: If you moderate comments, there’s no need to expose this one to the public (although I don’t mind if you do). Cheers,

    Hi Jim,

I didn’t see another way to connect with you. Can you drop me an email to:

We are launching a topic hub focused on Technology in SoCal with the Technology Council. I can explain more when we connect via email.

Unfortunately, because of a press window, there’s a bit of time pressure on this.
